The short version
Your warranty records, photos, and profile stay on your device. We don't run a server that stores your data, we don't sell it, and we don't show ads. A few things intentionally leave your device — listed below — and nothing does so without you knowing what and why.
What's stored, and where
- Warranty and maintenance records, service contacts you save (your plumber's name and number, and similar details you type in yourself), your profile, and photos of receipts/data plates are stored locally on your device. We do not have a copy. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, this is gone — back-up is your responsibility (the app has an export feature for this).
- Nothing requires an account. There is no sign-up, no password, and no server-side record tied to your identity.
What leaves your device, and why
- Safety recall checks. The app sends the manufacturer/brand name only (e.g. "Whirlpool") to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's public recall database. Your IP address is visible to that request, as with any web request. No other product details or personal information are sent. This check can be turned off.
- Optional AI-assisted photo reading. Photos are read entirely on your device first. Only if that isn't enough to fill in the details, and only after you explicitly agree in a one-time prompt the first time it happens, is the specific photo you added sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to finish reading it. You can decline and type the details yourself instead — nothing is sent without your yes. It's never used to train models, and your choice is remembered so you're never asked twice.
- Manufacturer registration and repair links open the manufacturer's own site with your product details pre-filled or copied for you to paste in — that's their page, not ours.
- Outbound links to warranty providers, retailers, or affiliate partners go straight to the third party's site. We may earn a commission on some of these, disclosed in the app.
- Usage analytics (planned). We intend to add privacy-preserving, cookie-free analytics (page views and anonymous outbound-link clicks). This will never include your warranty data, photos, or profile, and won't track you across other sites.
What we never do
- We never sell your data.
- We never share your warranty records, photos, or profile with anyone.
- We don't run ads or ad-tracking.
- We don't require an account.
- We don't invent or guess facts about your products.

Your choices
- Recall checks can be turned off in Settings.
- AI photo reading asks once, the first time on-device reading isn't enough — say no and it never sends a photo. Change your answer later by clearing your data (Account → Data management → Clear everything) or clearing this site's data in your browser/device settings.
- Export your data at any time (Account → Data management → Export).
- Delete everything on this device at any time (Account → Data management → Clear everything). This is permanent — there's no server copy to restore from.
Children's privacy
This app is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the relevant age in your region).
