Terms of Use

The short version

FrogCog is free. We supply information and you make the decisions. It is a guide to check against the real paperwork, not a promise, and it is provided as is.

FrogCog is run by Johnny Hanley, an individual. Contact: support@frogcog.com.

What to check for yourself

  • Warranty dates are worked out from the maker's standard term and the date you enter. Your own paperwork comes first.
  • Recall checks match by brand and product type against public lists. They can miss a recall, and they can flag one that doesn't apply. A clear result doesn't mean a product is safe, so confirm your exact model with the official notice or the maker.
  • Reading photos. Your device and the AI can both misread a photo. Check what they fill in.
  • Maintenance reminders are general suggestions. Your manual comes first, and only do work you can do safely.
  • Links, ratings and maker details come from other people's sites and can go out of date.

Providers, makers, shops and repairers

FrogCog shows information about other companies and links to them. A listing isn't a recommendation, and the list isn't every company. Anything you buy or arrange is between you and them, on their terms. We may earn a commission on some links, and the app says so where we do.

Your data

Your records are stored on your device, so we can't restore them for you. Keeping a backup is up to you, and the app's export feature is there for that. The privacy policy says what leaves your device.

What we're not responsible for

We provide FrogCog as is and don't promise that it is complete, accurate or always available. We can change or stop it at any time. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss from using it or relying on it. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can't be excluded, including liability for death or injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Using it

Use FrogCog for your own home and within the law. Don't try to abuse or overload the photo-reading service. Apple's standard licence also applies to the iPhone app.

Changes

If we change these terms, we'll update the date above. Using FrogCog after that means you accept the new terms.
